The 2018 ‘Solari’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a simply gorgeous release from Larkmead in this vintage. This wine is a sleeping beauty that possesses an incredible level of restraint and refinement. It that slowly begins to reveal its pretty aromatics of black cherries, redcurrants and cassis, which are laced with fresh cut florals, roasted coffee, spices, fresh herbs, licorice and sweet pipe tobacco that all take shape. On the palate this is medium-bodied and impeccably structured, with fine-grained, polished tannins that hold everything in place beautifully. It displays incredible focus and precision with a tightly wound core of sweet red fruits that expand gracefully into the well-defined finish. similar to all the wines from Larkmead in this vintage, this is clearly a beautifully, refined made wine, however this will demand patience which should pay off handsomely in the long term.
