The 2019 'Giovanni di Neri' Brunello di Montalcino is simply breathtaking. It is a beautiful, classical style, with exceptional purity and remarkable elegance. It begins to impress with its striking aromas of fresh red cherries and dark berries woven together with fresh flowers, herbs, spices, blood orange and stony minerals and underlying hints of leather all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied, refined and beautifully structured with fine tannins underlined by a lovely combination of minerality and acidity keeping it fresh and vibrant. This continues to impress with its remarkable overall balance and finesse as it heads into the long, refined finish, which is marked by gorgeous red fruits and light spice notes. This is one of the most beautiful wines from this legendary vintage, and although it is already showing plenty of appeal, this is ultimately an age worthy wine, which will thrive in the cellar for many years to come.
