This unique Chardonnay from Barrage comes from the Bouchey Vineyard and is richly decadent, oily and very interesting. It spends a lengthy 17 months in 50% new French oak barrels. A nose of ripe red apple, brown pear, bruised pineapple, and a touch of butterscotch and pine needle, it is different from any Chardonnay that I’ve had. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium-plus acidity, bruised stone fruit and honey flavors, it finishes with a touch of candied ginger and baking spice. 190 cases produced.
