I’ve never experienced a blend like this before - 27% Touriga Nacional, 18% Syrah, 16% Souzao, 11% Tinta Cao, 8% Merlot, 7% Mourvedre, 6% Counoise, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Tempranillo and a partridge in a pear tree! I honestly didn’t even know that these varietals grew on Red Mountain. It’s aged in 20% new French oak barrels and brings aromas of black cherry, blue plum, blood orange, autumn leaves, and some toasted fresh herbs. It is medium to full-bodied, has wonderful acidity, and smooth tannins. I love the white pepper and milk chocolate note on the front palate and the lengthy saline-driven finish. 1238 cases produced.
