It’s hard to pick a favorite from any wine that Matt Reynvaan crafts, because they are all so stunningly delicious. I taste through one and think “that’s my favorite” but I say that to all of his wines. They are all wonderfully unique and he literally doesn’t make an average win. A blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Marsanne, it starts out with aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, dried rosemary, black olive tapenade, and smoked pulled pork and produces that lovely “Rocks” funk on the nose that keeps me coming back for more time and time again. Balanced acidity and sweet tannin complement the savory black-fruit driven palate that also brings interesting bacon fat and dried mountain sage aspects to the lengthy finish. Enjoy this beauty now or over the next 10-15 years. Highly recommended.
