Partial whole cluster Syrah (all coming from The Funk vineyard in the Rocks) that is co-fermented with approximately 4% Viognier, this solid effort rests for 18 months in 40% new French oak barrels. Spiced black fruit, dried lavender, black-peppered salumi, Spanish olive, with just a hint of sweet coffee form the core of the wine. The palate finishes with a meaty and sweet blueberry finish on the mid-palate, alongside balanced acidity and polished tannins. Only 334 cases were made.
