May 22 WINE of the WEEK: La Rasina Brunello di Montalcino 2007

The 2007 has the be the best La Rasina I have had to date. The ever-evolving nose of fresh blackberry, pretty crushed florals, charcoal, licorice and savory beef is nothing less than intoxicating. This has a beautiful structure with plenty of depth. The finish is long and complex. A fascinating Brunello from an excellent vintage which can be approached now or put to rest for a decade or more.
