WINE of the WEEK: Valdicava Rosso di Montalcino 2008
The 2008 Valdicava Rosso di Montalcino is an absolutely gorgeous Rosso which would easily stand along side many quality Brunello's. There are lots of fresh blackberries and plum along with smoke, floral, scorchy earth, tar and spices. I love the silky, refined yet firm character about this wine. This stays focused straight thought the long grippy finish. Vincenzo Abruzzese has done a beautiful job with this Rosso. (Drink 2012-2019)
