The 2009 Jean-Michel Stephan Côte-Rôtie is a beauty, delivering dark raspberries, salty minerals, iron, bacon and pepper to name a few. This is dense and layered with round silky tannins that caress your palate. The finish is long and complex. 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier, the wine comes from young vines in the Coteau de Bassenon and Les Bercheries, and aged 24 months in neutral oak.
