The 2009 Castiglione is a gorgeous Barolo made in a traditional style, with aromas of bright cherries, tar, licorice and rose petal, which leap from the glass. The fruit is wrapped in delicate, silky tannins that are firmly structured. This slowly unwinds in the glass, gaining depth, yet remaining elegant. A fantastic effort from Luca Currado that is sure to age beautifully. The grapes for the Castiglione are selected from vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto, Monforte, Barolo and Novello.
