The 2011 Cuvée ‘Agnes’ is a serious Syrah from Louis Cheze. Dark and brooding with intoxicating aromas of ripe dark cherry and blackberries along with spices, roasted coffee, ash, smoke, dark chocolate, violets, iron and licorice which burst from the glass. This shows remarkable concentration and depth with a gorgeous plush texture that will instantly win you over. The finish is long and voluptuous, leaving behind a generous mouthful of dark fruits, spices and espresso. The wine spent between 18-22 months in 100% new French oak. This may be the best wine I have yet to taste from the Domaine. (Best 2015-2029) - March, 2014 (JD)
