BK WINES Syrah 'Cult' 2013

The "Cult" Syrah is named after the Coulter Vineyard where BK sources their fruit. Brendon picks his fruit earlier then others on the vineyard, which would explain the more balanced style. This is aged 11 months in French puncheons (20% new) and skin contact for 35 days. It has a classic Syrah nose, with aromas of bacon fat, leather, black pepper, violet, mint, loamy soil, chocolate, strawberry, and raspberry. It has a sense of elegance on the palate, with lots of complexity and possesses pure fruit followed by good acidity ending with a long finish. Stylistically this is Northern Rhone like with a hint of Aussie charm. (Best 2014-2024) - July, 2014 (MD)
