The 2011 ‘Phiculle’ is a fantastic blend of 90% Cabernet Franc with 10% Montepulciano from the Maravalle family, along with consultant Riccardo Cotarella. It offers intense aromas of black currant, dark cherries, spices, violets and smoky notes which leap from the glass. This is beautifully polished, impressing with its wonderful balance and depth. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving you chewing your way through dark fruits and spices. Today this is drinking well, however it will ultimately be at its best with just a bit more bottle age.
