Pedregal Vineyard is a small vineyard situated on the lower slopes of the eastern Oakville hills and planted to mainly Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon on St. George and 110R rootstock, with a small percentage of Sterling selection Petit Verdot on 110R. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is another excellent wine from David Ramey, which begins with profound aromas of ripe blackberries, sweet currants, graphite, tobacco, herbs, spring florals and lovely hints of sweet oak all taking shape. Full-bodied, dense and voluptuous, this possesses a wonderful polished texture which envelops your palate with layers of ripe dark fruits, spices and tobacco, that continue to build up to the long, opluent finish. Even at this early stage this shows plenty of appeal, however it also possesses the characteristics for a graceful evolution ahead.
