The 2014 Le Dix de Los Vascos, the flagship wine of the estate, is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Carmenère 5% Syrah sourced from 70-year-old vines located in the terroir known as “El Fraile”. This begins with inviting aromas of ripe blackberries and raspberries woven together with spices, mocha, tobacco, loam and hints of fresh violets all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus to full body with nicely polished tannins and notable concentration. A lovely mix of red and black fruits, spices and herbs continue to work their way across the palate and linger on the finish. Overall a solid showing from the team at Los Vascos in this vintage.
