The Cuvée Vigne Alte is a harmonious blend from Cornelissen's three highest vineyards, Tartaraci (1000m), Pettinociarelle (890m), Monte Dolce (870m). The average vine age is 90 years old, and vines are all ungrafted. The wine begins with pretty aromas of black cherries, spring flowers, salted meats and exotic spices with underlying hints of dried leaf, eucalyptus and mineral nuances. On the palate this continues to show its beauty with its excellent overall structure, purity and focus, as it possesses remarkable precision and concentration. The finish is long and silky, leaving begind a lasting impression of red fruits, earth and spices that linger on. While this is certinaly attractive now, it also displays wonderful aging potential and should become even more compelling after a few years of bottle age.
