Far from basic, the 'Basic Black' is a compelling blend of 26% Grenache, 19% Early Burgundy, 17% Tempranillo, 14% Syrah, 12% Carignan and 12% Zinfandel sourced from largely Sonoma County as well as Napa Valley. This highly complex bottling shows black tea, boysenberry liquor, cigar ash and mocha aromatics on the nose. Forward and rich, this displays nice combination of dark and red fruits on the palate with smoky undertones.
