The 2016 Evening Land Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir is absolutely outstanding in this vintage. The Pinot Noir was sourced from Pommard and Wädenswil vines, 30+ years old. Roughly 65% of the fruit was destemmed, 35% Whole Cluster and was aged in 20% new French oak for 16 months. The wine itself begins with aromatics of black raspberries, red cherries, exotic spices, dried florals, forest floor and wet stones all developing in the glass. On the palate this displays a wonderful texture, which is rich, yet with wonderful elegance and finesse. It continues to impress with its outstanding depth and remarkable focus as it remains beautifully balanced with gorgeous ripe fruits underlined by just the perfect touch acidity. This is a simply brilliant Pinot Noir from Evening Land and should continue to age gracefully for years to come.
