Anden is sourced from Evening Lands oldest Pommard Clones in the Seven Springs Vineyard, which are hand harvested on a cluster-by-cluster selection prior to whole fermentation. The wine is then aged in 100% new Ermitage barrels for roughly 16 months before bottling without fining or filtering. The result is an absolutely stunning Pinot Noir which exudes elegance and sophistication, while at the same time displaying remarkable concentration and focus. This thoroughly impresses with its wonderful complexity and striking aromatics, as characteristics of cherries, raspberries and pomegranate are woven together with dried exotic spices, dried florals, orange zest, loam soil and forest herbs which persist throughout. It continues to amaze with its stunning purity, precision and gorgeous silky texture through the pretty finish. Anden is truly sensational in this vintage, however at this early stage it is only offering a glimpse of full potential and will require at least a few years in the cellar before this begins to hit its stride. There is no question that those who demonstrate the patience to allow this to develop will be rewarded handsomely.
