The 2012 San Lapo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva begins with aromas of cherries, plums, dried spices, leather with hints of juniper and citrus peel. On the palate this possesses a medium body with notable balance and fine tannins making for a pleasurable silky mouthfeel. Flavors of red berries and exotic spices continue to leave an impression leading up to the long, dry finish. Overall, this is a lovely Brunello that shows lots of class and also has the potential to evolve nicely with a few additional years in the cellar.
