The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Élisabeth Chambellan is a total beauty. Composed of 88% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 2% other varietals of the region, this begins with inviting and complex aromas aromas of raspberries and dark cherries which come together with spices, black olives, iron and florals. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied with remarkable overall balance concentration and depth. The gorgeous plush texture is laced with flavors of black raspberry cordial, spices, chocolate, florals and minerals which all persist through the gorgeous velvety finish. This is a absolutely fantastic wine which is drinking beautifully now and will go on to age marvelously.
