The 2016 Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cornelia Constanza is composed of 100% old vine Grenache, from more than 100-year-old vines on the western slope of La Crau. The fruit was was partially de-stemmed and aged 60% in concrete tank and 40% in foudre for 18 months. The wine itself is absolutely gorgeous, as it begins to open it releases inviting aromas of cherries, raspberries, florals, spices and wet stones all taking shape. It shows remarkable concentration, with a lovely a seamless texture driven by a core of beautiful ripe fruits and exotic spices which continue to linger on the long finish. Overall, this is a wonderful wine which should continue to evolve beautifully for years to come.
