The 2016 Merlot includes a dash of Cabernet Franc which spent fifteen months in barrel and was sourced from Seven Hills, Mill Creek Upland, Loess and Leonetti Old Block. This deep colored wine begins with a gorgeous bouquet of dark cherry candy, mocha and crème de cassis which fill the glass. There is wonderful tension as this slowly reveals deep dark cherry, blackberry cobbler and mocha flavors. This finishes extremely long with dark fruits and minerals leaving a lasting impression. Winemaker Chris Figgins has crafted another stunning release that is amongst the finest Merlot wines in the state.
