The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from Philip Togni is a total stunner which is showing beautifully at this stage in its evolution. It instantly beings to impress with wonderful complex aromatics of red and dark currants, which come together with savory nuances of bell pepper and herbs along with cured meats and spices adding further complexity. On the palate this is shaping up beautifully, as the tannins have softened and are well integrated. It displays remarkable overall balance and precision with fantastic underlying acidity keeping it fresh through the velvety, finessed finish. While this is certainly hitting its stride now, it still has the stuff to withstand more cellaring and continue to show well for years to come. An absolute classic expression of Napa Valley Cabernet from this legendary producer.
