The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine Lou Frejau is a lovely showing. It instantly opens to vibrant aromas of fresh ripe raspberries, cranberries, spices, orange zest, cherrywood and spring florals. This medium-bodied red is well structured with a sleek texture and bright acidity at its core. Remians fresh and inviting though the finish. Fantastic now, but should be even more compelling as it picks up some secondary characteristics with some age.
