The 2016 'Cuvée Chaupin' is a total beauty in this vintage. Composed of 100% Grenache, sourced from Chapouin (sand), La Crau and La Janasse (sand). The wine itself is simply magnificent as it begins with fresh inviting aromatics of black raspberries, dark cherries and plums which are joined together with spices, florals, incense and hints if iron. On the palate this possesses a stunning medium to full body with incredible overall depth and concentration. The texture is rich and seamless with beautifully round tannins leading into the long, finish. One of the finest ‘Cuvée Chaupin’ in years, and while it is already showing exceedingly well, it is ultimately built for the cellar. There will be much to look forward to with this brilliant wine.
