The ‘Cuvée du Lion’ absolutely delivers in this vintage. Composed of 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre this offers bold aromas of kirsch cherries, ripe red plums, wild herbs, licorice, spices and hints of iron all emerging from the glass. The medium-plus body is backed by ultra-velvety tannins and wonderful overall depth and concentration. Shows wonderful freshness, with layers of ripe fruits and a gorgeous seamless quality through the long opulent finish. While this certainly displays the potential to age, it already offering so much, and should be ready to go shortly after release.
