The 2020 Cabernet Franc is a fantastic release from Hertelendy. It begins to impress with fresh inviting aromatics of black cherries, dark currants followed by exotic spices, dusty gravel, florals, tobacco, fresh sage and traces dark chocolate that all come together beautifully. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous full-bodied texture that is structured around big firm tannins. It displays outstanding overall balance with a ripe core of fresh red/dark fruits, spices and florals that resonate through the wine. It goes on to display an incredible combination of concentration, depth and poise all the way through the incredibly long finish. While this is excellent today, it should continue to impress for many years to come. This is nothing short of an incredible success in this challenging vintage.
