The 2008 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino is classy, but also has a rustic side. There's lots of fresh blackberries, stewed plum, lemon zest, spices, leather, earth and some hints of floral which develop with air contact. This is well-structured offering a pretty, velvety texture supported by fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and silky. This will thrive in the cellar. (Best 2016-2027) - March, 2013 (JD)
