The Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino is an absolutely magical effort in this vintage, showing tons of elegance and class. This refined Brunello doesn't even begin to open until after multiple hours of extended air contact, but as this slowly unwinds it releases beautiful aromas of fresh blackberries and ripe plums followed by spring florals, mint, fresh savory herbs, earthy minerals and crushed stones. This stunning wine shows remarkable balance and structure, with fine, silky tannins, which lend to the seamless texture, before everything firms up on the long, pretty finish. Today, this legendary wine only begins to shows its true character and charm and is ultimately an age-worthy wine that will demand extended bottle age before it will show its full potential.
