The 2010 belpoggio Brunello di Montalcino offers wonderful aromas led by black raspberries and plums, woven together with freshly cut floral, juniper bud, citrus peel and earthy minerals. The full body is well structured, supported by velvety tannins which are nicely integrated and make for a gorgeous seamless texture. It remains focused and balanced all the way through the long, spice-tinged finish. The 2010 can be approached early on, but readers may want to allow this just a few more years in bottle to develop a more refined character. (Best 2016-2027) - March, 2015 (JD)
