The 2013 Pinot Grigio ‘Dessimis’ is a gorgeous wine, displaying a beautiful pink-copperish hue, which it is believed to obtained from its 7 month maturation on lees. In fact, however, this is actually the natural color of Pinot Noir and by processing the grapes and handling the must in an oxygen-free environment, it allows the natural pigments to be preserved and remain throughout the life of the wine. For the wine itself, as this begins to open it delivers beautiful aromas o white peach, cherry pit, floral and crushed stones which leap from the glass. It shows wonderful overall balance, focus and depth with a beautiful texture. Look to approach this over the next five or so years. (Best 2015-2021) - May, 2015 (JD)
