Rocche dell’Annunziata is situated in La Morra and is one of the most historic cru vineyards in of all Barolo. At 270 meters above sea level it is comprised of south, south-east and south-west facing slopes, with soils composed of calcareous and clay. The 2011 from the Revello Family instantly bursts open with lovely aromas of ripe cherries and sweet strawberries, typical of the vineyard, followed by licorice, mint, spices, floral and crushed stones. On the palate it is firmly structured, with fine-grained tannins and a long expansive finish. There is plenty of potential here, however the 2011 will need some additional time before it shows its full potential. (Best 2018-2028) - July, 2015 (JD)
