DUCKHORN VINEYARDS Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2012

The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Duckhorn is a wonderful showing in 2012 with the final blend composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. It offers a perfumed nose with blackberries, plums, cassis, and anise with hints of some sweet oak. The mouthfeel is rich and acrid, needing time in the bottle for the fruit to fully integrate, that being said, there is a lot of potential for this to age gracefully. (Best 2017-2030) - July, 2015 (OB)
