GRAMERCY CELLARS Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley 2011

The Gramercy Cellars Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Phinny Hill vineyard in Horse Heaven Hills. They’ve created a relatively low alcohol wine in 2011 (13.9%) and used a higher percentage of new oak than most of their wines (35%) in a cool vintage where many producers struggled with gaining richness. The wine offers aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis and red bell pepper alongside woven together with baking spices, anise and kalmata olive. On the palate this offers a soft and velvety mouthfeel, which carries on through the finish. This will be accessible early and should drink well over the course of the next few years.
