2015 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #88
Indaco, meaning indigo in Italian, gets its name from the color of the sky at sunset at Tenuta Sette Cieli. The 2011 is a wonderful blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from 100% estate vineyards. It displays a dark, inky color followed by aromas of blackberries, blueberries, violets, spices, minerals and hints of new leather. On the palate the gorgeous rich texture shows excellent depth, backed by a lovely touch of underlying acidity providing lift and a sense of freshness. It continues to impress as it expands onto the long, supple finish. A fantastic wine that should drink well over the course of the next decade. Aged 16 months in 60-gallon French oak (40% new), just over 2,000 cases made. (Best 2015-2027) - October, 2015 (JD)
