The Gran Riserva from Conde de Valdemar is a superb effort. Only produced in the best vintages, a blend of 85% Tempranillo 10% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano. It is aged 28 months in French and American oak barrels. This delivers aromas of ripe berries, cedar box, tobacco, spice, licorice complemented by wild herbs, roasted coffee and deep earth. It has dense and focused red and black fruit wrapped in soft round tannins which glide across the palate before finishing with a long, vibrant finish. Enjoy this now or over the next decade plus.
