The 2012 Cardinale is a masterpiece of a wine from Chris Carpenter, composed from vineyards spanning across the entire Napa Valley. This blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot opens with intoxicating aromas of blackcurrants, black cherries, violets, graphite, mocha, spices and a hint of white truffle, which all take shape in the glass. On the palate this full-bodied, opulent wine shows outstanding depth and concentration, but remains beautifully balanced.
