The 2012 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon is a magnificent wine made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot sourced from the Spottswoode Estate Vineyard. This Cabernet is all about elegance, finesse and purity, offering striking aromas of black currants and ripe dark plum woven together with violets, graphite and a touch of chocolate working its way in. On the palate this Cabernet is full-bodied, well structured and beautifully balanced with remarkable depth and a seamless velvety texture leading to the long finish. Today, this is simply delicious, however still youthful and will require a decade to show its best. Nonetheless, this is a classic Napa Valley Cabernet with a wonderful future ahead.
