ORIN SWIFT 'Machete' 2012

The 2012 Orin Swift 'Machete' is a full-throttle wine that impresses. It is an intriguing blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Grenache that was aged 10 months in 40% new French oak. Winemaker David Phinney has crafted an intense wine that begins with aromas reminiscent of roasted prunes, mocha, and blackberry pie. There are bold flavors of red bell pepper, blackberry preserves, and coffee grounds. Gorgeous viscosity and richness. (Best 2016-2025) - February, 2016 (OB)
