This wine follows up their highly impressive 2012 Cabernet. Aromatically reticent at first and needing a one hour decent, the wine reveals a bouquet of pencil shavings, anise, black cherry, black olive and oak. There are flavors reminiscent of blackberry preserves, roasted figs, coffee grounds and creme de cassis. Lovely weight and intensity, with a polished texture. This captures the heat of the vintage.
