The 2013 ‘Cuvée Réservée’ is composed mainly from 80% Grenache along with Syrah, Mourvèdre and other permitted varietals. As this begins to open it releases alluring aromas of black cherries and dark plums followed by exotic spices, charcoal and hints of floral. On this palate this is beautifully textured with excellent balance and depth leading up the the long finish. While this may not the most compelling ‘Cuvée Réservée’ ever made, it is certainly a remarkable achievement in this difficult vintage. (Best 2018-2028) - March, 2016 (JD)
