BERINGER VINEYARDS Red Wine 'Quantum' 2012

Former head winemaker, Laurie Hook, has crafted a very sexy wine here with the new 'Quantum' Red Wine bottling. The majority of fruit comes from Howell Mountain along with a a small amount from vineyards along the Napa valley floor. The wine was aged in 60% new French oak for 16 months prior to bottling. This starts with aromatics of blackberry jam, anise, creme de cassis and black olive. The wine has rich flavors reminiscent of anise, fudge, creme de cassis, black olive and blackberry cobbler. Lovely depth, intensity and richness to this masculine wine. (Best 2017-2033) - May, 2016 (OB)
