The 2012 'Hommage Allen Rock' Syrah by Tor Headward is another gorgeous new release wine from this impressive Napa estate. This Syrah is sourced from the Conn Valley foothills between St. Helena and Lake Hennessey. Tor mentioned that 2012 was a large crop that had to be thinned many times. This intense wine starts with suggestions of milk chocolate, creme de cassis and rose petals. There are rich flavors of cola, black cherry, creme de cassis and milk chocolate. The structure and balance is there. This is a completely gorgeous and layered effort by Tor that will cellar beautifully for another decade. (Best 2016-2026) - May, 2016 (OB)
