This Cabernet is sourced from the Alice vineyard in the Rutherford AVA. Head winemaker Gary Galleron blended 4% Petit Verdot in with this Cabernet. Galleron has a longstanding history in Napa, having made wine for Del Dotto, Whitehall Lane and Chateau Montelena. Aged for 22 months in 80% new French oak, the wine begins with heady aromatics of black cherry, anise, creme de cassis, Turkish coffee and creosote. There are deep flavors of anise, wild blackberry preserves, and creme de cassis that sit alongside a strong minerality. There is a strong left bank Bordelaise feel to this Cabernet.
