The 2014 Merlot was sourced from Flora Springs sustainably-farmed estate vineyards in St. Helena and Rutherford and was aged 16 months in a mixture of new and seasoned small oak barrels. As this Merlot instantly opens it releases aromas of black cherries and sweet plum reduction followed by vanilla, a mix of sweet spices and some lightly toasted oak. These characteristics continue to carry on through the palate where it shows a lovely soft, round texture with a wonderful seamless quality. This will be accessible upon release and many will certainly find the open style of this Merlot quite appealing. (Best 2016-2020) - July, 2016 (JD)
