The 2013 Spring Valley 'Mule Skinner' Merlot is another silky release from this estate. As the Merlot slowly opens in the glass it starts to release aromas of prune, red cherry, red raspberry and blackberry. There are ripe flavors of red cherry, dill, sagebrush and blackberry cobbler. This is forward style Merlot that has a lovely purity of fruit. While the wine is clearly accessible early, this shows wonderful aging potential as well. (Best 2016-2027) - July, 2016 (OB)
