The 2013 Reynvaan 'Queen's Road' white blend is made from Marsanne and Viognier, which was sourced from the esteemed 'In The Rocks' Vineyard. This intriguing blend has already seen some nice bottle age. The distinctively stony aspect on the nose makes this apparent that it is from the Walla Walla Rocks region. As the wine slowly develops in the glass after extended air contact, it begins with a bouquet reminiscent of crushed gravel, poached pear, lychee and orange blossom. This leads to gorgeous flavors of Meyer lemon zest, kumquat and green papaya all coming together beautifully. The rich texture and seamless quality of the wine improves with the wine being served slightly on the warmer side. Given the structure and viscosity, I think this beautiful white has the potential to continue to age gracefully for another decade (Best 2016-2026) - August, 2016 (OB)
