The 2012 Château la Nerthe is composed of 44% Grenache, 37% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault. As it begins to open it releases aromas of black cherries and dark plums woven together with spices, floral and hints of baking spices. On the palate this possesses a rich texture with a lovely soft, velvety mouthfeel which persists through the finish. This is already quite delicious, but I expect to continue to take shape in bottle over the course of the next decade. (Best 2016-2027) - September, 2016 (JD)
