Château Trois Moulins is located at one of the highest points of Macau, with its terroir composed of quaternary gravel with large pebbles. The characteristics of this terroir certainly reflect in the wine, as it instantly opens with aromas of dried earth, minerals and tobacco which accompany the ripe blackberry and plum characteristics. On the palate this has a medium+ body and delivers flavors of dark fruits, as well as dried tobacco, dried soil and scorched notes. This displays notable structure as it heads in to the long, chewy finish. Overall, this is a fine showing, which should continue to drink well over the course of the next few years. 45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc. (Best 2016-2021) - November, 2016 (JD)
